Lydia and I home school our kids. Mainly Lydia does, but I help. We have been a part of Greater Rochester LEAH, a local LEAH chapter, for a few years and serve on its board.

We have gotten a lot out of our involvement with the group. Our kids have made a lot of great friends, they have been able to take excellent classes like art and public speaking, we have made some wonderful friendships with other home schooling parents and our kids have taken part in great sports programs.

Recently the board has asked me to serve as its president. Our current president, Linda Konig, is graduating her last child this year and is ready to shift gears. She has been running our group for years and has a ton of context, experience and relationships in our group. I have none of that! So, it is going to be a lot of work to get up to speed on all the responsibilities. I am looking forward to it.

Also, I will be posting from time to time on the group, our vision for it, the work that we are doing and its progress.

The first order of business will be getting the web site more functional. Then we will dive into strategic planning - that's the real fun! After that it will be about the long hard slog of implementation.
